Olympic Style Results for Your Travel Business | Travel Business U

Seeing people at their fullest potential fascinates me. That?s why I love the Olympics.? But what?s the difference between the gymnast who wins the gold and the gymnast who doesn?t even make it to the Olympics?? Or the swimmer who didn?t qualify 4 years earlier, but then comes back to win a gold medal and break the world record?

Is it talent?

Or physical fitness?

Maybe, but not necessarily.? More likely, it?s mindset.? And this is true with your business too.

You may have never considered this but ? your passion for travel indicates incredible talent.? Thus, I believe you have the potential to be a ?gold medal? success in your business.? But are you?

If not, consider the following 3 mindset tips that I know our Olympic champions have nailed.? These may just help you in your own business.

  1. Set sight on your goals and EXPECT them to be realized.
There are a few important things going on in this tip.? First, it?s about getting super clear on your goals.? The more clear, the better.? Olympic champions have been focusing on very specific goals for many, many years.? Second, you have to believe you can realize your goals.? And when you believe in them, you expect them.? Expecting them means you make different choices than if you are just hoping for them.? Expectation is an incredibly powerful energy.? Consider this example:? when you decide to have a party for 50 people, you expect 50 people to show up.? You send out 50 invites.? You prepare enough food and drink for 50 people.? You get the space ready for 50 people, etc., etc.? You do all this BEFORE the actual party takes place and BEFORE you know how many people will actually show up.? You don?t sit around and ?hope? that 50 people will show up, and then get things ready when they do.? That?s the difference between hope and expectation.? When you expect your success to happen, you will make different choices than when you hope success happens.? Think about some of the things you would do differently if you expected success ? like hiring that admin person, or hiring someone to write your blog.? Taking action like this is what moves success forward for you.
  2. ?Just Do It? A great Nike slogan, yes, but also a very important business philosophy that can be the difference between success and failure.? Once you set your goals, you have to just go after them, even if you don?t know the path.? Most of us get stuck in ?in-action? because we want to do it right and we want to see all the steps.? The movie ?Forest Gump? had a great lesson about this, if you noticed it.?? You have a guy with a 75 IQ and physical issues with his back from the day he is born?a few obstacles for sure.? But he manages to achieve incredible things like:? going to college and playing college football, earning a medal of honor for his time in Vietnam, buying a shrimp boat and becoming a successful shrimper with no experience,?and the list goes on.? Yes, it?s a little bit of an exaggeration, but the lesson is still there.? He achieved these things because he just ?did it.?? He didn?t think about the how.? He didn?t wait around for all the steps to be revealed to him.? He just went after things, without worrying about how he would do it.
  3. Don?t Compare Yourself to Others
Comparison is mindset cancer!? Byron Katie, author of ?I Need Your Love.? Is That True?? says that there are 3 types of businesses:? 1) My Business; 2) Your Business; and 3) God?s Business.? She says that we spend too much of our time in the wrong business ? your business and God?s business.? We can?t control either so why waste time in them.? The only business we should be concerned with is ?My Business? because that?s what we control.? The moment you start comparing yourself to others who might be more successful or further ahead, is the moment you inject your business with poison.? The only thing you should be comparing yourself to is you and your utmost potential.

Your Assignment: Adopt these 3 mindset tips today. Identify what you would be doing differently if you expected your goals to show up very shortly. Get clear on what steps you can take to get closer to your goals, without worrying about what you don?t know. Finally, stop comparing yourself to others!

Olympics ticket broker to co-host Romney fundraiser

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An Olympics ticket broker whose company apologized last week for distribution problems at the London Games is co-hosting a fundraiser for Republican U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney in Indiana this week.

An invitation to the fundraiser in Evansville, Indiana, scheduled for Saturday, lists Sead Dizdarevic, founder and owner of the ticket-selling companies Jet Set Sports and CoSport, as one of 24 "event co-chairs."

The invitation lists ticket prices for the fundraiser ranging from $2,500 for a "Minute Man contributor" to $75,800 for "Romney Victory Max Out Contributor."

The invitation, for what is described as a reception at the home of Steven Chancellor, a coal mining executive, also lists as hosts Indiana native and former U.S. Vice President Dan Quayle and U.S. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell.

Listed as "celebrity guests" for the event are actress Bo Derek and actor Ricky Schroder, both of whom have been active in Republican Party politics.

Precisely how Dizdarevic will be involved in the event is unclear. The Romney campaign did not responded to e-mails requesting comment and a representative of Jet Set and CoSport had no immediate comment.

Last week, a woman who answered the phone at Jet Set Sports' head office in Far Hills, New Jersey, said that Dizdarevic was in London for the Olympics, where his company CoSport was designated by the United States Olympic Committee and several other national Olympic committees, including those of Canada and Australia, as an "authorized ticket reseller" for the Games.

Last week, CoSport apologized for delays that forced some customers arriving in London to spend up to six hours lined up in sweltering heat to collect their tickets. The company also said that it was "very sorry" that some customers had not received the bloc seating ticket arrangements they had requested.

Dizdarevic, the owner of CoSport and Jet Set Sports, was a figure in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics scandal that led to Romney's successful takeover of the running of those games.

The scandal focused on allegations that Salt Lake officials bidding to lure the Olympics there had spent millions of dollars on gifts, cash payments and other benefits for IOC members involved in deciding whether to award the Games to Salt Lake City.

The scandal also involved payments that prospective vendors made to Salt Lake Olympics officials. An indictment accused two officials of receiving $130,000 from Jet Set Sports, of which CoSport is a part.

The charges eventually were tossed out by a federal judge, but not before Dizdarevic testified against the suspects after receiving immunity from prosecution.

Afterward, Romney recruited Jet Set as a sponsor after he took over as chief of the Salt Lake Games, according to Mark Lewis, who worked on the Games as an aide to Romney.

Reports filed with the U.S. Federal Election Commission indicate that since last year, Dizdarevic, his wife and their company have contributed $200,000 to Restore Our Future, a political action committee, or PAC, that supports Romney's bid to oust President Barack Obama in the November 6 general election.

Transcript: Dick Cheney's First Interview After Heart Transplant

Dick Cheney on His New Heart

JONATHAN KARL: How you feeling?

DICK CHENEY: Excellent. I haven't felt this good in years.

JONATHAN KARL: So this is- you've gone through this heart transplant. You were- you were in end stage heart failure.

DICK CHENEY: Right. Two years ago this time I was- on a respirator, heavily sedated, just had had a pump, a left ventricular assist device installed on my heart 'cause my heart had gotten so weak after six heart attacks and 30-some years of heart disease that- it was, you know, it was at the end. And the transplant is just- it's- nothing short of a miracle what it does for you.

JONATHAN KARL: But when you go in for that surgery, you don't know if you're gonna come out alive.

DICK CHENEY: Well- that's one way to look at it. I've got- one scar, but I've had- three operations through that one scar, a bypass of '88, the pump in 2010, and then this year- the transplant. And the pump proposition, that was the toughest of all the surgeries. I lost 40 pounds. I was- heavily sedated in the intensive care unit for weeks afterwards. I had pneumonia while I was in recovering from the- the surgery. And- by the time I came out from under- I looked in a mirror and what I saw was my dad shortly before he died.

He was in his 80s?when I went in to do the transplant; I was only in the hospital nine days. It was just four months ago. There's not been a single glitch, no sign of rejection. Everything's just gone perfectly.

JONATHAN KARL: And- and you're out, you're fishing again?

DICK CHENEY: Absolutely.

JONATHAN KARL: Incredible.

DICK CHENEY: Yep, every chance I get.

JONATHAN KARL Do you have any idea, do you know anything about the donor?

DICK CHENEY: I don't. They deliberately- maintain anonymity, at least at the outset. I think part of that has to do with the fact that it- it's such a dramatically different situation. From the standpoint of the recipient, obviously- it's- it's a tremendous gift. And- I'll always be grateful to the donor and the donor family for- for having made possible several additional years of life.

From the standpoint of the donor's family at that point- they'd just been through a terrible tragedy and they'd lost a loved one, a family member. And- so they don't encourage contact at that point. But there is a process- where you can go through a third party. It's- an organization that encourages transplants. And they'll be an intermediary to see if the other- party wants to- to- meet or exchange information or be in contact. And- it's something you can do down the road.

JONATHAN KARL: And will you do that?

DICK CHENEY: At some point- I- would be, you know, certainly amenable to- contact with the family. But- but we have not at this point exchanged any information.

JONATHAN KARL: What would you say to them?

DICK CHENEY: Well- the main thing I'd say is thank you. I've done it publicly not knowing precisely who it was or which family- every chance I get publicly is to express my gratitude for what's a magnificent gift. I can't think of- of a more magnificent gift than to be given additional years of life. And that's what it is. The transplant then, you know, gives you- all of a sudden- the- expectation of several years of additional life that I never thought I'd have. I can't think of a more- magnificent or generous gift.

JONATHAN KARL: So what are you gonna do with those additional years?

DICK CHENEY: Well- I'm- spending time with my family? I don't have full-time work - if that's what you're asking. This summer we're enjoying very much being at home here in- in Wyoming. So I'm, I'm sort of back to normal life I guess would be the- the best way to describe it. And- you know, there are all kinds of possibilities out there. Maybe write another book- certainly plan to fish a lot and- probably do some speaking.

Advice for Mitt Romney and Why McCain Picking Sarah Palin Was "A Mistake"

JONATHAN KARL: Beth Myers- told me that she called you- for some advice on handling the vice-presidential search which she's doing for Romney of course. What- what- what is your advice to Mitt Romney as he makes this decision?

DICK CHENEY: Well, that's the kind of thing- in terms of any specifics- it's valuable if I give it to him but in confidence and don't talk to others about what I said to him. I can talk generally about the way I think about the-

(OVERTALK)

JONATHAN KARL: Let me put it this way. How- how important is it for him to do this in a way that is different than the way John McCain handled his vice-presidential search?

DICK CHENEY: Pretty important. That one I don't think was well handled. And-

JONATHAN KARL: Why?

DICK CHENEY: I sort of think of it as- there are- there are two lists, is the way I always thought about it. And- and I don't know whether the Romney people are- are operating this way or not. I assume they're being very careful and cautious. I certainly would expect that. But there's- there's the big list that's got a lot of folks on it.

I actually, when I was doing it for- well, I did it for Ford in '76. But then again for- George W. Bush in 2000. I had a couple of calls from pro- politicians who'd say, "You know, it'd really help me in my race back home, Dick, if I was on the list." Done. You're on the list. Then somebody could go leak the fact that they were on the list. 00:08:56:00 But that was the big list. It was easy to get on the big list. The tough part is the- the small list, the one that's really under active consideration. And the test to get on that small list has to be is this person capable of being president of the United States? If something happened tomorrow, do they have the experience and the know-how and the qualities you'd wanna have in- in somebody who was asked to take over- the government- at- under one of the most difficult sets of circumstances without election, in effect, all of a sudden that something happens to the president and the vice-president has to step in? And that's usually a very, very short list.

JONATHAN KARL: What about the other considerations? Can you bring a state? You know, can you- can you reach out to a specific demographic, woman, Hispanic? I mean, what- what about some of those other-

DICK CHENEY: Well, I think those will be thought about. And they're important considerations. But I wouldn't waste time focusing on those issues until you've got somebody who- can pass that- that first test. Could they be president of the United States? And- so then you get into the question of geography or certain wing of the party or gender, race, those kinds of issues.

And those are important issues, but they should never be allowed to override that first proposition. And- I think that- that that was one of the problems McCain had. I like- Governor Palin. I've met her. I know her. She- attractive candidate. But based on her background, she'd only been governor for, what, two years. I don't think she passed that test. And I think -

JONATHAN KARL: Of being ready?

DICK CHENEY: Of being ready to take over. And- I think that was- a mistake.

Cheney Released Ten Years of Tax Returns, But Romney is Find Releasing Two

JONATHAN KARL: Romney's said no more tax returns. Two years, that's it. I looked back. You asked every vice-presidential- potential vice-presidential pick to give ten years in tax returns. You released ten years of tax returns.

President Bush, Governor Bush at that time, released ten years of tax returns. What do you think? As a practical matter, should Romney just bite the bullet?

DICK CHENEY: Well, there- there's a standard out there you have to meet. There's a requirement that you put out, what is it? One year? And also release a financial disclosure statement. You have to do that when you become a candidate. And- and he's done that. Now, you can argue should it be one? Should it be five? Should it be ten?

If he had two years out, they'd want four. If he had four years out, they'd want six. If he had six years out, they'd want ten. He's made his judgment. I'm confident- I have great confidence in- in- what he's put out there. He's been a very successful man. And- there's no evidence of any kind that he's done anything improper or inappropriate.

JONATHAN KARL: What would you tell him to do?

DICK CHENEY: It's a distraction. I'd say do what he feels like doing. If this is his decision, fine. Let's get on with it.

JONATHAN KARL: Why did you release ten years?

DICK CHENEY: I have no idea. I didn't really think about it. (LAUGHTER) I think the standard was probably set by- President Bush, then Governor Bush. And I did what he did. In other words, you weren't gonna have the presidential candidate do ten years and the vice-presidential candidate not do that. So.

JONATHAN KARL: That would have been a problem.

DICK CHENEY: Might have been.

On Osama Bin Laden, How "Nobody Trusts" Barack Obama and Why the U.S. Shouldn't "Run for the Exits in the Middle East:

JONATHAN KARL: You- you've had some time to- you had an opportunity to talk to Romney when he was out here for the fundraiser. What's your sense on his foreign policy, national security? Is it gonna be- does he have- is he gonna have the same approach that you had?

DICK CHENEY: Well-

JONATHAN KARL: What's your gut? I mean, what's your- what's your gut?

DICK CHENEY: This- some people might think that's a good idea. Some people might think-

JONATHAN KARL: Some people might not.

DICK CHENEY: -it's a bad idea, yeah. I- you know, for what- I have obviously strong views about- what's going on in the world based on past experience. And people I think for the most part- anybody who knows me- knows what those views are. I believe that- as we go forward, there's no question in my mind but what- Mitt Romney would be much better as a commander in chief than- is Barack Obama.

I think Obama's made some big mistakes. I look, for example, at the Middle East situation today. It's- seems to be growing increasingly chaotic. We've seen the Muslim Brotherhood elected in Egypt. We've got the ongoing conflict in Syria where thousands of people have died. Looks like the Assad regime's gonna collapse. We don't know what ultimately is gonna replace it.

There's continuing problems in Iraq. I look at what the Obama administration's done and it's basically head for the exits. I think we have a significantly diminished capacity to influence events in that part of the world because of the way this administration has operated or failed to operate. I think what is crucial is to remember that the U.S. still has vital interests in the Middle East and those haven't gone away. We've got a lot of good allies and friends out there- both the Israelis obviously but also a number of our friends in the Arab world, the Saudis, the United Arab Emirates and- and so forth.

And- those folks- I think have doubts about how valuable a U.S. commitment is at this point because, you know, Barack Obama, among other things, went to Cairo and apologized for past U.S. behavior in the region. He has withdrawn everything from Iraq and failed to negotiate the follow on agreement that had been the cornerstone of what was gonna be left behind to make certain that the Iraqis could take care of their own situation.

And- with respect to Afghanistan, you know, we're in a similar situation now. It's tough. It's hard. It's difficult. I know the public's tired of conflict. But- if we turn our backs and walk away- we're just headed for trouble down the road eventually. And- this administration is not in a position- frankly, to do anything about it because nobody trusts them.

JONATHAN KARL: Doesn't President Obama deserve credit for the long term? I mean, you've got 20, 24 so high-value al-Qaeda targets have been taken out. Bin Laden's dead. I mean, you can't say he's been soft on terror, can you?

DICK CHENEY: I have- I wouldn't say he's been soft on terror. But I think there- I think he's made a number of mistakes. Bin Laden, fine. I went out and congratulated him when he did it. Said it on camera. A lot of that, as Leon Panetta said at the time, he was CIA director, and-others was- a lot of that intelligence that laid the groundwork for what ultimately led to the capture of Bin Laden came as a result of programs we had in place in the Bush administration.

Took a long time and a lot of groundwork by our intelligence professionals and by the military to get to the point where we could take down Bin Laden. So it was- a continuous effort over a ten-year period of time. Fine. What I worry about is that- where if you remember what happened, for example, back in Afghanistan, we were actively involved there in the '80s after the Soviets withdrew. Everybody was involved in helping the Mujahideen against the Soviets, turned around and walked away.

Taliban came to power. Then there was a civil war and they- they won. They invited in Osama bin Laden in '96. He set up training camps, trained 20-some thousand terrorists in the late '90s. And that was the base from which they launched the attack of 9/11 that killed 3,000 Americans. That's the reason we went in back in- in 2001. And- as we now turn our backs and walk away and say, "Gee, we've been there a long time or it's been too costly," we very much run the risk of seeing bad things happen in that part of the world.

That is the part of the world where we're most likely to see the proliferation of nuclear capability come from. AQ Khan, who was running the black market operation, we took him down our watch in our first term. He said- within the last year in- in the press, in public, that the Pakistanis had sold uranium enrichment technology to the North Koreans. And we know the North Koreans now have 2,000 centrifuges operating enriching uranium to- to- weapons grade status.

That is- a cesspool, if you will, of the kinds of developments in WMD. Today we see the Syrian situation- civil war and- the government talking about the possibility of using chemical and biological agents against their own people. Can you imagine what would have happened if they had the nuclear rector that the Israelis took out five years ago? I mean, it is a very important part of the world for us to be actively and aggressively engaged in.

We should not be running for the exits. We should not be turning our backs on our friends in that part of the world. We ought to be prepared to aggressively engage, if we have to, to- halt the further spread of nuclear capability.

Obama: Worse than Carter

JONATHAN KARL: Your overall assessment of President Obama. We're almost through a first term.

DICK CHENEY: I obviously I'm not a big fan of President Obama. I think he's been one of our weakest presidents. I just fundamentally disagree with him philosophically. I- be hard put to find any Democratic president that I've disagreed with more-

JONATHAN KARL: Really?

DICK CHENEY: Than Barack Obama. Yeah.

JONATHAN KARL: Worse than Jimmy Carter, from your perspective?

DICK CHENEY: Yes.

Gay Marriage and His Daughter Mary's Wedding

JONATHAN KARL: Does he deserve some credit on the issue of gay marriage, being the first president to come out and say he's in favor of gay marriage?

DICK CHENEY: You know, that's- that's- up to him. I made my statement on that subject 12 years ago.

JONATHAN KARL: What's your stance? Is that a generational thing? I mean, are we getting to the point- one thing President Obama said is that- his daughters were kind of influential in- in coming out. They- they didn't understand why could there be a problem. I mean, is- is that issue even gonna be relevant in 20 or 30 years?

DICK CHENEY: I don't know that it's relevant now. You know? There are a lot of big issues. And I'm sure that's a big issue for some people obviously. But I don't think the election's gonna turn on that issue.

JONATHAN KARL: Do you wish you had pushed a little harder on that issue?

DICK CHENEY: Why?

JONATHAN KARL: Well, I mean, it's-

(OVERTALK)

DICK CHENEY: If I was out there 12 years ago in the first- campaign in 2000- in the debate with Joe Lieberman in front of millions of Americans on live television and I laid out my position then and it hasn't changed- no. I've addressed it and moved on.

JONATHAN KARL: How was- how was Mary's wedding?

DICK CHENEY: I'm sure it was fine. We wished them well. She wanted to avoid- having it be a media circus or having it become part of the political debate. And- so- Lynn and I were very proud and happy and congratulated them. They've been an important part of the family for a long time. Provided us with two of our seven grandkids.

JONATHAN KARL: And you're proud of her?

DICK CHENEY: Absolutely.

The Legacy of Cheney and the Bush Administration

JONATHAN KARL: How is Dick Cheney gonna be remembered?

DICK CHENEY: Oh, I- I- let somebody else- worry about that. I wrote my book, John. You- you ought to read it. It's a good book.

JONATHAN KARL: I have read it.

DICK CHENEY: You have read it. But- no, I- you know, the historians, others will decide on what my legacy is. I had- had a fantastic career. I went to Washington to stay 12 months in 1968. And I spent the better part of the last 40 years there. I got to be White House chief of staff, ten years of congressman, secretary of defense, vice-president.

If you're a political junkie like I obviously am- that was- every one of those was just a tremendous experience.

I'm very comfortable with what I did and why I did it and how I did it. And- I'll let others judge- whether they liked it or not.

JONATHAN KARL: Do you have any regrets?

DICK CHENEY: Not really.

JONATHAN KARL: Really?

DICK CHENEY: Unh-uh (NEGATIVE).

JONATHAN KARL: I mean, you left office as one of the most unpopular vice-presidents modern time.

DICK CHENEY: You can't be judged and shouldn't judge- people in those senior levels by the polls. Journalists do it all the time. That's one of the- the things that's out there that's sort of quantitative and there's a lot of people spending money on polls and so forth. And so, you know, once a week or twice a week when new polls come out, there's probably, you know, a couple polls every day.

It gives you something to work with. But it's not a very effective way to judge- the performance of individuals. And- I never worried about the polls. If I had, you know, I- I was in the wrong line of work.

JONATHAN KARL: Well, I- I get the sense we haven't heard the last from you. So.

DICK CHENEY: Well, that- that could be. I probably- Democrats out there- I saw one commentator the other day on- who shall remain unnamed saying, "My gosh, he's back." (LAUGHTER) They were of the more liberal persuasion.

JONATHAN KARL: Yeah, yeah. Well, you're back and you're with us. And thank you very much, Mr. Vice-President.

DICK CHENEY: All right, John.

JONATHAN KARL: Really appreciate your time.

Red Sox grab series

Ciriaco's bloop single in 10th the difference after Valentine ejected

Image: Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Adrian GonzalezAP

Boston's Jarrod Saltalamacchia, left, and Adrian Gonzalez celebrate after scoring on a double by Ryan Sweeney during their victory over the New York Yankees on Sunday.

updated 1:48 a.m. ET July 30, 2012

NEW YORK - The big stars from Boston haven't given the Yankees the most trouble. The problem has been Pedro Ciriaco and Felix Doubront.

Ciriaco blooped an RBI single in the 10th inning for his latest big hit against New York, sending the Red Sox to a 3-2 victory Sunday night moments after Boston manager Bobby Valentine was ejected.

Ryan Sweeney hit an early two-run double for Boston, which took two of three in its first visit to Yankee Stadium this season despite grounding into four double plays against Hiroki Kuroda. The last-place Red Sox (51-51) left town 9 1/2 games behind the AL East leaders.

"We didn't really have a lot of opportunities," New York manager Joe Girardi said. "Doubront was tough on us, and he's been tough on us all three of his starts."

The 24-year-old lefty held the Yankees scoreless until Russell Martin homered leading off the seventh inning. Martin also hit a tying single with two outs in the eighth off closer Alfredo Aceves (2-6), who went the rest of the way for the win.

But the Red Sox put runners at the corners in the 10th for Ciriaco, who came through again. Called up July 6 from Triple-A Pawtucket, he is already a New York nemesis.

Ciriaco had go-ahead hits in all three Red Sox wins over the Yankees in nine meetings this season - including a ninth-inning triple Saturday. He is 11 for 22 with six RBIs against New York.

"Fastball in, trying to jam him. We did just that," Martin said. "He found a hole. He caught a break."

Jarrod Saltalamacchia drew a leadoff walk from David Robertson (1-4) in the 10th, and Will Middlebrooks squared to bunt. Robertson's inside pitch appeared to deflect off Middlebrooks' right wrist, and the rookie yanked his hand away immediately as he spun to the ground.

The next thing the ball hit, however, was the left shin of plate umpire Brian O'Nora, who tumbled to the ground in pain. Trainers checked on Middlebrooks and O'Nora during a long delay, and Middlebrooks finally started toward first base.

But the umpires ruled it a foul ball and brought Middlebrooks back to home plate. Valentine engaged in a lengthy discussion with the umps that finally grew heated and animated. He was ejected by O'Nora and threw his chewing gum in foul territory before returning to the dugout.

"He heard it. That's what I take exception with," Valentine said. "No one saw anything. He just heard it. What are you going to do? I'm not going to say anything that's going to get me fined any more."

It was Valentine's third ejection in his first season with Boston, and the 40th of his managerial career. Moments later, Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett was tossed by third base umpire and crew chief Tom Hallion after apparently jawing from the dugout.

"The ball hit the bat," O'Nora said. "That's it."

Once play resumed, Middlebrooks grounded an 0-2 pitch through the left side for a single. Sweeney bounced into a force play that left runners at the corners, and Ciriaco plopped a soft fly into shallow right beyond the reach of a drawn-in infield.

"What haunts me that inning is the leadoff walk," Robertson said.

Andrew Miller pulled Boston out of a dicey jam in the seventh and got the first two outs of the eighth before Andruw Jones doubled. Martin lined Aceves' first pitch to center, and Jones scored without a play.

It was the fifth blown save for Aceves in 27 chances.

Martin moved up on a wild pitch but was stranded when Ichiro Suzuki flied out. Suzuki stranded five runners on the night.

"Usually with this offense you're going to get some good results, but it just didn't happen today," Kuroda said through a translator.

Aceves plunked Nick Swisher with a two-out pitch in the 10th, then struck out pinch-hitter Raul Ibanez to end it. After winning a nine-pitch battle with Ibanez, Aceves pumped his fist hard in front of the mound.

Kuroda allowed seven hits over eight innings in his latest strong outing. Tagged by Boston on July 6 at Fenway Park, he yielded only Sweeney's two-run double in the second this time. The right-hander has won four straight decisions and is 7-1 with a 2.46 ERA in his last 12 starts.

Hit hard last Monday at Texas, Doubront rebounded with eight strikeouts over 6 1-3 innings in his first career start at Yankee Stadium.

Doubront, who was getting the most run support in the majors, worked around five walks and is 1-0 with a 2.41 ERA in three starts against New York this season.

NOTES: Yankees RHP Joba Chamberlain (dislocated ankle) struck out three in 1 1-3 scoreless innings during his rehab outing for Double-A Trenton. He threw 23 of 30 pitches for strikes and earned the win in relief against Harrisburg. ... Swisher had two hits in his return to New York's lineup as the DH after missing seven straight starts with a strained left hip flexor. ... Boston had lost its previous four series against New York since August 2011.

Charley is busy writing copy on her new website revenue site. James rushes to her, launching immediately in to a monologue about anything. Shaken from her attention to her task, Charley is suddenly cast adrift, trying to determine the context of Fred?s communication. She?s missed the very first phrase or two, has lost the train of her imaginative thought, and is now attempting to orient herself to Fred.Fred, who has been considering his topic for awhile, knows why he is interrupting Charley. Unfortunately, he does not understand he is acting as though what he has to express is more important than what she is doing. Since he has been considering it, he seems to act as though Charley has been following his train of thought as well and doesn?t need an introduction to it on her. Because of this, he doesn?t provide Charley the large picture so she may react appropriately.Charley requires Fred to repeat what he has already said. She tries to get clarification. James stops but looks agitated and irritated that she ?obviously hasn?t been listening.?What should Charley have done?1. Make Fred comprehend ahead of time, when possible, that she?s to not be interrupted until it?s a crisis requiring her immediate attention.2. Tell Fred that she really wants to hear what he?s to express but not while she?s making copy.3. Remind him nonverbally (with a ?stop? )if he forgets.4. Hold impatience out of her speech or actions if he doesn?t heed hand signals or soft shushing, and say,?Later, please.?5. Thank him afterward for acceding to her desires, reinforcing his good behavior.6. Inquire in regards to what he wished to share.7. Give Fred her full attention when she listens. But listening and communication aren?t an one-way street. John needs to be aware of and sensitive to what hearing and communication demand. So what should Fred have inked instead?1. Determine if Charley were open to pay attention to him before launching into what he?d to say.2. Be sensitive to her being unwilling to interrupt what she was doing at that moment.3. Decide if it is essential enough to affect her just work at that moment.4. Make certain he?s her attention before talking and not merely assume he has.5. Call her by name and ask if they can tell her something about XYZ.6. Tell her what he desires to discuss and why he thinks it?s crucial before launching into his monologue.7. Await eye contact with her before speaking about his subject.8. Check her knowledge by asking for feedback, opinions, or recommendations about it.Listening and communication for both Fred and Charley (the sender and recipient of any communication) require their being Aware, Attentive, Considerate, Empathic, Cooperative, Respectful, and Responsive.

NBC Olympics

NBC Olympics

I don?t know what you thought about the opening ceremony of the ?Games Of The 30th Olympiad Of The Modern Era,? but I watched it from seat 5D on JetBlue Flt 676 from LAX to JFK and, for me, it lacked some of the grandeur I was expecting.

Not to worry. Once they passed torch, lit the cauldron and sealed it with Sir Paul?s awesome version of Hey Jude, I was psyched to immerse myself in the hundreds of hours of cross-platform coverage offered by the Networks of NBC. (By the way, can you name the networks of NBC? Scroll down to the bottom of the article for the answer.)

On the first official day of the Olympics, MSNBC, NBC, NBC Sports, Bravo and Telemundo all carried fully produced, linear feeds. CNBC had a some coverage, then a combination of unrelated regular and paid programming. There was fencing, swimming, handball, archery, badminton, tennis and soccer. It was more than enough Olympic coverage for all but the most dedicated fans ? but ? NBC made us a promise ? 3,500 hours of live, streaming coverage powered by YouTube. Awesome!!! Being a rabid fan of international table tennis, I was dying to see Szu-Yo Chen (TPE) vs. Krisztina Toth (HUN) go at it in the 2nd Round of Women?s Singles. Luckily for me, this very match was going to be streamed live.

Now, as you can imagine, I have a fair amount of technology at my disposal. Watching YouTube is so easy a child can do it, and I even have a few kids around. So, second round of the Women?s Table Tennis Singles here I come ? well, not exactly.

I got an idea. I have a 60? Samsung 7000 series connected in the living room and it has Samsung Smart Hub. The TV has a web browser so, instead of streaming to my MacBook Air, I could stream to the big screen TV and share the experience with everyone ? well, not exactly.

First, I had to spend a while getting the URL into Samsung?s Smart Hub browser. When the browser is open, you need to move the cursor with arrow buttons around a virtual keyboard to type in alphanumeric characters. http://www.nbcolympics.com took 10 seconds per letter. Then, I was taken to a splash page that told me that I had to register to get the service. The Olympics streaming service must be authenticated through your cable provider. OK, 10 minutes more and I realized that I did not have proper login credentials to authenticate the stream.

If you?re a Charter Communications customer, you know just how bad Charter?s customer service is. After about 30 minutes of phone calls and online chats, I was able to get my MacBook Air authenticated. It was painful, but I was on a mission.

Next step, get the Samsung 7000 set up to stream. I don?t have a QWERTY remote, so typing credentials into the authentication dialog box was excruciating, but again, I was on a mission.

After I hit ?Log In,? the dialog box went blank and nothing happened. The United States badminton team had just pulled within one point of the Koreans and everyone in the living room wanted me to make the picture full screen, so I had to abandon my dreams of streaming in favor of watching the American hit the shuttlecock long giving the match to Korea. Ugh!

With time running out, I asked the question, ?Is there an App for that?? Of course there is. Samsung has an awesome remote control app for the iPhone and it solved the Samsung text input problem handily ? well, not exactly. It took me far less time to get back to the authentication screen, but the results were the same. No joy.

OK, I get it. There will be no authenticated streaming on Charter using Samsung Smart Hub to view www.NBCOlympics.com on my big screen. At least not today, so ? I?ll just logon with my MacBook Air and watch table tennis at my kitchen table.

On a positive note, it took only seconds to connect via my MacBook Air, but then, the first thing I was treated to was a 30 second commercial. I paid no attention to it, so I have no idea what product it was for. It had a bunch of images of athletes ? pretty undifferentiated, but that?s for another column.

After an hour of failed attempts to authenticate and logon, and after a 30 second commercial, I expected to see Table Tennis. I got a video player window, but the only thing playing was color bars and a test tone. (A screen shot of what I saw is on the right.)NBC Table Tennis

To be fair, other sports were working fine and the image quality was great. My MacBook Air was the perfect personal consumption device for this content. But, I would really have loved to get the 60? Samsung into the game. That would really have been fun.

What failed? Was it NBC, Charter, Samsung or YouTube? I have some ideas, but I really don?t know. What I do know is that an average consumer would blame everyone in this ad hoc ecosystem. Which makes me want to rhetorically ask, ?How much better will this experience be on the yet to be released, hypothetical, Apple Connected TV?? The bar is set so low, Apple almost can?t mess this up. ?For now, even with the best connected TV and the Networks of NBC powered by YouTube, the only way was using a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable ? problem solved ? well, not exactly.

(Answer to the question, ?What are the Networks of NBC??: NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, CNBC World, CNBC Asia, NBC Sports, Bravo, Mun2, SciFi, Trio, Universal HD, USA Network, A&E, Chiller, cloo, Comcast SportsNet, E!, G4, Golf Channel, International Television, Oxygen, Sprout, Style Media, The Weather Channel, Telemundo, and a bunch of digital properties.)

Home Buying Tips From Real Estate Experts | Realty Services Plus

It can be quite daunting to buy real estate, particularly for first time buyers. It should calm your nerves somewhat to realize just how lucrative wisely planned and executed real estate investments can be. This article has some information to help you get started buying real estate whether you are a first-time buyer, or a veteran.

When you are negotiating the price of real estate, it is best to have a moderate approach. It can be counter productive to be too aggressive in your bargain hunting. It?s best to tell your real estate agent what you want, and let them handle the negotiations themselves. They have experience.

Real estate agents should contact those who they have helped buy or sell a home once each year. If you call them again, they will know how much help you were when they were buying their home. Kindly remind them that you make your income via referrals and that you would feel honored if they spread your name to friends.

You?ve finally decided to buy a house, but now you have to find a reputable real estate agent. You?ll want to find an agent you can trust. For an area you?re unfamiliar with, check with the Better Business Bureau for any complaints against agents and how they were resolved. Look around until you find an agent that truly seems to be looking out for your best interests.

Before you buy a house, hire a home inspector. If the house you?re looking at requires serious renovation work, you need to know it before buying it. This makes the inspector an extremely cost-effective and-safety conscious choice that should never be bypassed.

Do some research and analysis on the area housing market. Use various websites to check for foreclosed homes, sales prices and time on market for houses in your local area. Other things you may want to investigate are local unemployment rates, income levels and schools. In some cases, having the perfect location can override other factors.

Build a large network of fellow real estate investors. There will be a steady supply of properties that are available, but each investor will have a preference for particular types of property. This can lead you to the perfect place that you might not have found otherwise.

When purchasing a home, try to limit the existence of fireplaces to one, to avoid having to maintain too many of them. Multiple fireplaces don?t get used as a general rule, and they are a nuisance to keep clean.

Buying and investing in real estate is a huge purchasing decision that will have a dramatic impact on your life. The advice in this piece can help you steer clear of common real estate traps, and make the best decision

The Evolution of Real Estate Marketing ? Business | Raw Business ...

business_corporate_law_img.jpg

Copyright (c) 2009 Duncan Wierman

The real estate laws and regulations have evolved through time as well as the traditional role of a real estate investor. New opportunities have opened due to the evolution of real estate marketing making it a great avenue for a successful and profitable career today. This may be looked upon as a contradictory statement if you are a Realtor and not moving houses due to economic times, however if you are taking advantage of real estate investing, virtual investing, and virtual wholesaling you would agree.

Due to the current economic times, houses are going up for sale fast, and as fast as they are going on the market, prices are dropping due to the economic situation. However, even with the dropping prices the average families are not in the position to buy new homes, which results in houses sitting empty and more often then not, on the market for a long periods of time. This can result in families having to pay two mortgages or banks sitting on a note that they are losing money on. For real estate wholesaling, this can be a moneymaking opportunity plus an advantage to a homeowner sitting on a mortgage they cannot afford to pay.

By real estate investing, wholesaling, and virtual wholesaling, you not only benefit a possible struggling homeowner but you can make some sizable profits. Other benefits to real estate investing, real estate wholesaling, and virtual wholesaling are:

- Builds a diversification of your asset profile

- If you are real estate investing you continue to receive a residual income from tenants

- If real estate investing or wholesaling you can purchase bargain properties and use as rentals while doing improvements to increase the resale value while still having the residual income from the tenant until ready to place on wholesale market.

-Banks are looking to get out from under bad debts making negotiations on properties very profitable if the negotiator knows the right strategies.

- Income potential from a single real estate wholesale can be quite profitable in the thousands of dollars.

- Property ownership adds status in society.

-With virtual wholesaling you get all the benefits above as well as a broader market, little to no travel expense or time, and 99% if not more of your work can be done via the internet, phone, fax, or the mail.

Regardless if you take advantage of what the evolution of real estate has came to in virtual wholesaling in full or just partially, the market is ripe for the investor at any level and there is definitely money to be made.

Futurity.org ? New risk factors for chronic skin cancer

The study reveals that particularly intense sun exposure before the age of 30 is a strong a predictor of basal cell carcinoma occurrence among the high-risk study population, even decades later in life. (Credit: iStockphoto)

BROWN (US) ? New analysis suggests that for some people with high risk factors, basal cell carcinoma is a chronic disease.

High sun exposure before the age of 30 was a major predictor, as was a history of eczema.

?Basal cell carcinoma is a chronic disease once people have had multiple instances of it, because they are always at risk of getting more,? says Martin Weinstock, professor of dermatology in the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, who practices at the Providence Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

?It?s not something at the moment we can cure. It?s something that we need to monitor continually so that when these cancers crop up we can minimize the damage.?

Dermatologists hold out hope for a medication that will help prevent recurrences of BCC. To test one such medicine, Weinstock chaired the six-site, six-year VA Topical Tretinoin Chemoprevential Trial, which last year found that the skin medication failed to prevent further instances of BCC in high-risk patients.

Weinstock is the corresponding author of the new study, published online July 19 in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, which presents an analysis of the risk predictors of BCC recurrence found among the trial?s population of 1,131 people, all of whom were veterans, 97 percent of whom were men, and whose median age was 72. On average, a participant had more than three episodes of BCC or squamous cell carcinoma before entering the study.

History, eczema, and early exposure

Overall, 44 percent of study participants developed new BCCs during the study period. The biggest predictor of another bout with BCC after three to four years of follow-up was a prior history of them.

The 129 participants who had more than five BCCs in the five years before the study had a hazard rate ratio that was nearly four times as high as that of the 204 people who had none or one and more than twice as high that of the 200 people who had three.

Eczema was another predictor of BCC recurrence in the study?s high-risk group. Participants who acknowledged a family history of the skin condition had a hazard rate ratio 1.54 times higher than people who did not, after statistical adjustments.

?We don?t know why this is,? Weinstock says. ?The connection with eczema is something that?s new, that needs to be further explored.?

Age was another predictor, and not just in providing further confirmation that the risk people face increases with age. The study also showed that particularly intense sun exposure before the age of 30 was a strong a predictor of BCC occurrence among the high-risk study population, even though for most of them their 30s were decades ago.

?We talk about sun protection, which is important, but that?s something for basal cell that?s most important in your youth,? Weinstock says. ?While we don?t exonerate UV exposure in one?s 40s, 50s, and 60s, it was particularly UV exposure before the age of 30 that was most closely related to BCC in our study.?

Awaiting a new trial

If limiting UV exposure is most crucial before the age of 30, what can doctors do for older people who may be headed for multiple bouts with BCC?

?Right now we have this wait and cut approach,? he says. ?We know these people are at high risk and we know that most of them are going to get more.?

A better solution comes back to finding and testing preventive medication. Tretinoin didn?t work, but Weinstock says he and his colleagues are testing another called 5-Fluorouracil. He said he is optimistic but has not yet seen the data from a trial that began about three years ago.

Robert Dyer of the Providence VA Medical Center and Brown University is the study?s lead author. In addition to Dyer and Weinstock, other authors on the paper are Tobias Cohen, Amilcar Rizzo, Stephen Brigham, and the VATTC Trial Group.

The US Department of Veterans Affairs Co-operative Studies Program funded the research.

Govt inaction hurts the disabled | Sunshine Coast Health | Fitness ...

A FORMER AFL star, appalled by politicians' failure to commit to a national disability scheme, has challenged them to spend "24 hours in hell".

Disability campaigner Peter Yeo

A FORMER AFL star, appalled by politicians' failure to commit to a national disability scheme, has challenged them to spend "24 hours in hell" as a severely disabled person unable to move or care for themselves.

Noosa-based disability campaigner Peter Yeo said the failure of the Prime Minister Julia Gillard and state and territory leaders to agree to National Disability Insurance Scheme would leave thousands of Sunshine Coast families waiting years more for help.

Mr Yeo, who runs the ZeroPoint5 Foundation, broke his spine at home after slipping on a wooden floor answering his mobile phone. He was there for 26 hours before anyone found him.

He said he wanted politicians at all levels to learn firsthand what it was like to be a high-level quadriplegic, totally reliant on a carer to move them, wash them and get them to the toilet.

"If there was a fire in my place I can't move. I would just have to watch the fire come and burn me up," he said.

He said Coast families with disabilities were waiting two years just to get a response from politicians after pleading for help.

"There are so many young people on the Sunshine Coast living in aged-care facilities. It is disgusting."

Mr Yeo recently held a rally in Brisbane where he was expecting 200. Instead more than 5000 turned up.

"People are really hurting," he said.

"The politicians don't understand. I want them to spend 24 hours in hell to go through everything that we go through."

Mr Yeo said he did not accept arguments from Premier Campbell Newman that there was not enough money to fund a disability insurance scheme.

He was particularly appalled with the PM following yesterday's meeting of state and territory leaders.

"The Prime Minister has failed to rise above partisanship, only reaching mates deals with Labor states for NDIS launch sites. This is a farce," Mr Yeo said.

"The Federal Government is clearly not serious about the NDIS when none of Australia's three largest states have been included for launch sites."

?

NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME

On average, every 30 minutes someone in Australia is diagnosed with a significant disability.

But as families have discovered, there is cruel lottery where the services and support people with disability, their families and carers receive depends on where they live, what disability they have, and how they attained that disability.

The number of people with a severe and profound disability on the Sunshine Coast is estimated at 10,700.

Florida Construction Contracts Need More Than Two Pages to Be ...

computersgeniemia.com | computersgenieofmiami.com |avmart.com | pcrepairmiami.info
| joinmcatoday.com/?a=1578/

I?m asked occasionally to recommend a simple 2-page construction contract for states like Florida.

Where can I get a contract like that?

If you see one of these two-page wonders, you can be sure it?s junk ? at least in the State of Florida. The legislators in Tallahassee have seen to that. Every valid Florida construction contract will include several pages of notices and disclosures required by Florida law.

If you?ve been using a two-page contract for residential construction in Florida, here?s a handy guide to what you?re missing.

Opportunity to Repair (Florida Statures Chapter 558.005)

Every construction contract in Florida (except public transportation projects) must include the ?notice of claim? statement. The contract is still valid if you omit this statement. But the fine for leaving it out is $500 under Florida Statutes ? 775.08(3).

Buyer?s Right to Cancel (Florida Statutes ? 501.031)

Unless the deal was closed at a state fair, at your office or after an express invitation to visit your client at home, residential contracts have to give notice of the buyer?s right to cancel.

If the deal was closed, for example, over lunch in a restaurant, on the phone, by email, on a golf course or at an architect?s office, it?s a home solicitation sale. I know that doesn?t make much sense. But it?s Florida law. The notice is required. Omission of the notice is a first degree misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in prison and a $1,000 fine under Florida Statutes ? 775.082 and ? 775.083.

Florida Construction Lien Notice (Florida Statutes ? 713.015)

This notice has to appear in all residential prime contracts valued at $2,500 or more if work is either new construction or improvement of a building with four units or less. The notice has to be in 12-point bold caps and either on the front page of the contract or on a separate page. If the notice is on a separate page, this statement has to be signed by the owner and dated. Omitting this notice is a non-criminal violation punishable by a fine of up to $500 under Florida Statutes ? 775.08(3) and may make it difficult for a prime contractor to enforce lien rights.

Construction Industry Recovery Fund Notice (Florida Statutes ? 489.1425)

Omission of this notice is punishable by a fine of up to $500 for the first offense and up to $1,000 for a second or subsequent offense.

The Home Improvement Sales and Finance Act. (Florida Statutes ? 520.73)

If a home improvement contract includes a finance charge, Florida law requires a statement in 10-point bold type directly above the owner?s signature. Omission of this notice requires a credit of all delinquency fees charged, plus attorney fees and costs.

If your Florida contracts fudge on these notices, you have an excuse. Some of these required notices are new. The right to repair notice became effective October 1, 2006. The lien notice law became effective in the present form on July 1, 2007.

This checklist covers only notices required by Florida law. Of course, all Florida contracts have to comply with Federal law ? the 3-day right to cancel (12 C.F.R. 226.15 ), Federal Truth in Lending (15 U.S.C. 1601) and insulation disclosures (16 C.F.R. 460). If you do home improvement work in zips between 33010 and 34141, Miami-Dade Municipal Code ? 10-33 requires additional disclosures.

Even if you?re not concerned about the threat of fines and jail time, there are good reasons to keep your contracts legal under Florida law. Get into a dispute on any job and the attorney for the other side will hammer away at every little flaw and blemish in your contract. You could be left with no way to collect.

So while a two-page construction contract may be easy to get the owner to sign, it may not be completely legal under Florida law. It certainly offers little or no protection should something go wrong. Unfortunately, most forms available on the Internet today do not cover the provisions required by Florida contract law.

Ford takes aim at Lexus with new Lincoln MKZ

Ford is taking aim at Lexus with a new Lincoln luxury sedan that goes on sale this fall.

Ford said Tuesday that the Lincoln MKZ will start at $35,925. That's $175 less than the Lexus ES 350.

The MKZ is a critical product for Ford, which is trying to revamp the Lincoln brand after years of neglect. It's the first in a string of new Lincolns that Ford plans to roll out over the next three years.

Among the MKZ's features is an all-glass roof that opens automatically and slides over the back window, giving both front and rear passengers a convertible-like ride. It has Lincoln's split-wing grille, one of the brand's most recognizable features. But designers toned it down after complaints about the ungainly maw on the most recent Lincoln sedans.

The car is longer and wider, giving it a more luxurious look. It has an elegant, clean dashboard with flush buttons for controls instead of knobs.

Ford first revealed the new MKZ midsize car in January, but didn't announce the price until now.

The price tag clearly sets Lincoln up as a competitor to Lexus, which was the third highest-selling luxury brand in the U.S. last year behind BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Lincoln was the top-selling brand in the U.S. in 1998, but it was eclipsed by Lexus for most of the next decade. Lincoln is now outsold by seven other luxury brands.

Ford will also offer a hybrid version of the MKZ at the same price as the gasoline version. That's $2,750 less than the hybrid Lexus ES 350. Ford has been offering a hybrid MKZ at the same price as its gasoline sibling since 2010, and says it has brought new buyers to the brand.?

Mariah Carey joins American Idol Season 12 judging panel

American Idol confirms that Mariah Carey will be joining the judging panel for Season 12. Here are 5 good reasons why?Adam Lambert should follow.

In this June 2, 2012 file photo, American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress, Mariah Carey performs during a concert in Monaco. It was announced on Monday, July 23, 2012 that Mariah Carey will be a new judge on FOX's "American Idol" TV show.

It's official. After weeks of speculation and rumors, American Idol and Mariah Carey have confirmed that the diva would be bringing her brand of glitter to the Season 12 judging panel. Who will be joining Mimi on the panel is yet to be determined but as reported here last week, a deal with Ms.?Carey could result in another season for veteran judge Randy Jackson, who has worked with Carey extensively over the years. And just as a deal with Carey may mean another year for Jackson, it pretty much guarantees an end to Jennifer?Lopez's reign on American Idol. Shortly after Steven Tyler announced his departure, Lopez indicated that she was 99 percent sure she would also be exiting.

Apparently, 1 percent of her was holding out for another increase in her salary.

But since a deal with Carey surely does not come cheap (hubby Nick Canon previously announced that Idol simply could not afford to hire his wife), producers have no need to bring on another diva with outrageous salary demands, which means that after two lackluster seasons, Lopez has finally become redundant. So who will fill the remaining mystery seat??

Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert's name has been mentioned frequently over the past few weeks and, with the addition of Mariah Carey, Lambert becomes an even more attractive candidate for the final spot. Here are five reasons why Adam Lambert could prove to be the perfect addition:

  1. Confidence: Having appeared with the band KISS and members of Queen during his season, Lambert has already proven that he has the confidence to hold his own among other famous celebrities.
  2. Celebrity: While history has definitely taught us that stars do not necessarily make good judges, it seems that producers are no longer willing to take a chance on non-celebrities like they did with Simon Cowell and Jackson in Season 1. Lambert represents a nice middle-of-the-road choice; not quite a superstar, but definitely not an unknown. And he was also one of Idol's more controversial contestants.
  3. Economy: Lambert, though a fledgling star, would certainly represent a more economical choice than that of Tyler, Lopez and Carey.
  4. Branding: What better way to promote the Idol machine than by hiring past contestants?
  5. Chemistry: Since Carey and Jackson are already as thick as thieves, the third judge will need to be someone who can hold their own but not so well that they steal the spotlight from Carey. Lambert, as a past member of the dog house, already has an established rapport with Jackson and since he's not famous enough to threaten Carey, they could certainly bond over their shared sense of bold style and drama.

So there you have it, five good reasons why Lambert would be a great choice as an Idol judge. But since?my critiques of Lopez and Tyler have had little impact over the last two seasons, I'm starting to suspect that the producers may not be consulting this blog for advice.
