Brownback's daughter weds at Topeka church
TOPEKA, Kansas (AP) -- The first family of Kansas closed out 2011 with a happy celebration.Gov. Sam Brownback escorted his daughter Abby Christine Brownback down the aisle of a Topeka church Saturday afternoon for her wedding to Eric Teetsel. The private ceremony took place at the First Presbyterian Church, where the governor and his wife, Mary, were married 29 years ago.Abby Brownback is an education reporter for The Gazette, a weekly newspaper in Maryland's Prince George's County. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Kansas State University and a master's in public affairs reporting from the University of Maryland.Teetsel is a program manager at the American Enterprise Institute. ?He earned a bachelor's degree from Wheaton College and a master's in education from Azusa Pacific University.
